Liposuction (Suction-Assisted Lipectomy)

Purpose of procedure is to remove fatty deposits via a thin strawlike instrument and vacuuming device.

Tumescent technique involves the injection of clear, colorless physiologically equivalent fluid into fat cells to plump them up and minimize pain, bruising and swelling.

For large volume fat removal or for liposuction of fibrous areas, ultrasound-assisted lipoplasty (UAL) may be used to liquefy the fat before suction removal.
