Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, Dr. Martello has both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Biological Sciences from Stanford University, and received her medical degree from U.C.L.A. She was a member of the distinguished Grossman Society and was awarded the Hyde Scholarship as the most promising female medical student entering the field of surgery. She trained at the prestigious Harvard's Massachusetts General Hospital and was the first resident accepted by the University of Kentucky for entry into the highly competitive training programs for both general and plastic surgery.

After completing her plastic surgery training, Dr. Martello was accepted as a hand fellow at the world-renowned Kleinert Insitute in Louisville. She was a member of the United States Hand Transplant Team that prepared for the first ever hand transplant in the country. She represented the team in presentations in Indianapolis, Vancouver, Minneapolis and Hawaii.

Practicing safe medicine in a mutual partnership with a patient is of great importance to Dr. Martello. She believes in informing her patients fully about their treatment and care. The Medical Board of California chose Dr. Martello as the medical consultant with the Enforcement Division's Probation Unit.
